Carmen: Toreador Song



Aleksandra Korejwo

Born in Poznań in 1958. A screenwriter, graphic artist, film director, animator. In the years 1979-1984 she studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphic Art and Sculpture and at Animated Film Studio of the State School of Fine Arts in Poznań under the supervision of Professor Kazimierz Urbański. From 1985 to 1993 she was a lecturer at the Animated Film Studio and Studio of Visual Activities and Structures of the Poznań School. Until 2001 she cooperated with the TV Studio of Animation Films in Poznań.
She makes films using sand animation directly in front of a camera, especially to illustrate music pieces of great masters. She received numerous festival awards, the Young Art Medal (1995) and a scholarship from Acme Filmworks in Hollywood, where she made 4 original films in 1995. She was in the jury of a number of animated film festivals and children's film festivals in Poznań, ŁódĽ, Oslo, Annecy and Madrid.
