Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am really glad that the Ale Kino! Festival has been consistently promoting films for young audiences for so many years now. In the contemporary culture it is film that is the most widespread and accessible form of art. Due to the popularity of this medium, films serve to convey important issues to young but demanding viewers in a straightforward and interesting way.

In its twenty-five editions, the International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! has featured many important productions. The availability of interesting and ambitious repertoire has shaped the sensitivity of growing-up viewers over the years. At the Poznań event, young cinemagoers have always had the chance to see beautiful, moving and amusing films, which help them understand themselves and find their ways in the increasingly complex contemporary world.

Since the Act on Cinematography came into force and the Polish Film Institute was set up, the production of films aimed at young people has been on the increase and young audiences have been given much more attention by filmmakers. It clearly shows in the programme of this year’s Festival. I am happy to see that working for young viewers is regaining its former prestige.

I would like to thank the organisers for their effort and devotion in organising such an important event. I wish the audience many unforgettable moments at the cinema!
