Dear Organisers,
Participants and Guests
of the 25th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino!

The next, anniversary 25th International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! is about to begin. The Festival has earned its place in Poznań cultural calendar as an event of great importance in the process of shaping film awareness of young audiences. Over the many years, the Festival has featured a wide repertoire of films carefully selected in terms of artistic and educational value; films addressed to students, teachers and film professionals. I hope that also this year the Festival will become a real film feast for all its participants.

We all realise how difficult it is to make a worthy film for children: a film which not only entertains but also educates and shapes sensitivity and taste of its viewers. It is such films that the International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! is to promote.

The uniqueness of this particular festival lies not only in the carefully selected film repertoire, but also in fringe events such as seminars, meetings and lectures, whose main participants are teachers and educators. Therefore, the Festival has become a place where screenings are followed by discussions of professionals who single out the most valuable films for young audiences. Such methods are to help young cinemagoers understand film work and to direct their future choices of repertoire. I am convinced that such well-tried initiatives can turn young Festival audiences into more conscious viewers.

May all the participants of this year’s Festival have a thrilling time while watching film stories! May the makers of competition films win many prizes, especially those awarded by young cinemagoers!

I wish to thank the Organisers for their dedication to the work of creating the present Festival image and promoting the cinema which chooses the youngest viewers as its most valuable and sensitive audience.
